Contributions to Fund,

9. Every person on first contributing to the Fund shall pay an entrance fee Entrance of one-half per cent, of the amount of the security then required from him; and in the event of his being subsequently required to find security in a larger amount there shall be due from him, by way of further entrance fee, a payment of one-half per cent. of the amount by which the amount of the security which he is last required to find exceeds the security or securities upon which he has already paid. Provided that in no case shall the total amount paid by any person by way of entrance fee exceed the sum of ten dollars or be less than one dollar.

10.- (1.) Every person who is appointed to an office in the service of the Contribu- Government in respect of which security is required shall pay every year into the Fund an amount equal to one per cent. of the amount for which security is required.
(7) After an officer has contributed to the Fund a sun equal to five per cent. of the amount for which he is required to find security his future annual contribution shall be an amount equal to one-tenth part of one per cent, of the amount for which security is required to be given by such officer; unless the Governor with the advice of the Treasurer considers that the state of the Fund lu such case the requires that all officers should contribute the full amount Treasurer may, with the approval of the Governor require the full contribution to be continued or resumed as the case may be.
(7.) Whenever the Treasurer on preparing his annual report and statement in accordance with Rule 5 considers that in view of the financial condition of the Fund the rates at the time in force under sub-sections (7.) and (2) may properly be reduced or ought to be raised he shall notify the Governor to that effect in his report and shall declare the rates which he recommends to be prescribed in sub- stitution therefor, and such rates shall, on being approved by the Governor and cominunicated to the officers concerned be substituted for the rates at the time in force; provided that the rates shall at no time exceed those specified in sub-sections (4.) and (1)

12. (i) Any officer who has elected to receive back his contributions under the Rejoining provisions of these Rules shall, if he rejoin the Fund, join as a new member.

An officer giving security in one appointment if transferred to another Transfer appointment in which security is required shall give security in respect of the last appointment, and, up to the aidount of the security given in the first mentioned appointment, shall be treated as if he had not changed his appointment.

15. Where any officer is found to be in default by not duly accounting for or Veer in by not duly delivering to the officer or other person authorised or entitled to receive default. the same all property which ought to be so accounted for or delivered or otherwise, the amount due by the officer in default shall be certified by the Treasurer and the amount so certified shall be deemed to be due from the Fund on account of such officer's default subject to appeal to the Governor-in-Council by the officer alleged to be in default.
Provided that notification of the Treasurer's certificate shall be given to the officer alleged to be in default and that the appeal shall be made within a month of the receipt of such notification by the officer concerned.

16. 18.) Where the whole or any part of the amount due by such officer is 'Reenvary of recovered the same shall, after the necessary expenses of recovery, if

(i) Where the Government has not received from the Fund the whole amount due but a part only and proceeds against any officer in default and recovers the whole amount or any portion thereof, the Fund shall be repaid any amount which may remain after the necessary expenses of recovery, if any. have been deducted and after deducting from the amounts received from both sources the amount due by the officer in default.
(67) All moneys so paid into the Fund shall be placed to the credit of the accounts of the Fund charged in the first instance, to the extent of or in propor- tion to the amounts so charged.

19. Whenever it is established to the satisfaction of the Governor that loss Fund Bable has resulted to the Government by reason of the act, default or negligence of some tor loss two or more officers guaranteed under these Rules but it is not possible to determine caused by by which of the said officers such loss was caused or in what proportions the loss ever was caused by them, the Fund shall nevertheless be liable to make good the amount waknown of the loss sustained if such amonut is not more than the aggregate amount of the degree. sums in respect of which each of the said officers has been guaranteed by the Fund, and if the loss is greater then to the extent of the sums aforesaid.

20. Whenever under the provisions of these Rules the Fund shall have more Exclusion than once made good losses on account of any individual officer, and the Governor forum fond has decided to maintain such officer in his office or to transfer him with or without reduction of salary to some other office for which security is required, it shall be lawful for the Treasurer to exclude such officer from the operation of these Rules, and he shall then be required to furnish such security as the Governor shall determine, and no sums paid by such officer to the Fund'shall be returned to him.

21. There shall be three separate accounts kept of the contributions and Accounts to moneys accruing to the Fund, to be called--
(a.) The "Income Account";
(b.) The "Officers' Personal Account”; (c.) The "Reserve Fund Account".
